Founded in 1960 by prominent behavioral scientist Dr. Joseph V. Brady, IBR is an independent nonprofit research, services, and educational organization headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Our mission is to enhance the growth of the behavioral sciences and their application to human affairs through our Research, Clinical Services, and Consulting & Education initiatives. We invite you to explore our diverse programs, enjoy the various resources we have to offer, and about IBR and the people who make it all happen.
IBR was founded as a research institute, and continues to thrive with a diverse portfolio of initiatives both on-site and in collaboration with US and international colleagues. IBR’s current scientific research activities focus primarily on Operational Fatigue & Performance, Small-Group Behavior & Social Neuroscience, Behavioral Economics, Behavioral Pharmacology & Pre-Clinical Research, and Policy Development.
Through its REACH Health Services division (Recovery Enhanced by Access to Comprehensive Healthcare), IBR offers a comprehensive outpatient substance use disorders program that delivers medication-assisted treatment services. Through its Intensive Outpatient services (IOP), REACH provides a higher level of care to patients who do not do well with standard outpatient or opioid maintenance therapies.
IBR’s diverse programs and expertise are rooted in the application of behavioral science to help solve a great variety of human and social challenges. IBR offers expertise through proprietary behavior modeling of performance and effectiveness, operational Fatigue Risk Management Systems (FRMS) planning, research and analysis, team performance assessment and maximization, and state-of-the-art behavioral economic analysis to better understand individual and group behavior and decision-making.
