Family Service of RI will be honoring Providence College Basketball Coach Ed Cooley at the 12th Annual Brighter Futures Award Luncheon on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the Rhode Island Convention Center beginning at noon. Coach Cooley was born in South Providence, and has played a quiet but important role in helping to improve the lives of families and young people in the community. The Providence Children’s Initiative Walking School Bus supports a wide range of student-centered goals, including daily school attendance, on-time arrival, daily exercise, positive adult role models, and parent engagement. We are seeking volunteers to walk kids to school – a great way to connect with kids and get your daily exercise. You can volunteer once a month, once a week, or every day.
