When injury strikes, our Emergency Department responds in minutes, not hours.

Keep up to date with our most recent awards, recognitions, and accreditation's!

I would like to begin this message by acknowledging the outstanding contributions of each and every member of the Johnson Memorial family. From our clinical staff to our administrative colleagues, from our food and nutrition team to our housekeeping crew, everybody has played a determinant role in our continuing successes.

At Johnson Memorial Medical Center we keep moving forward at a steady pace, with very important achievements to celebrate as well as exciting prospects for growth. Supported by hospital-wide efforts to advance the quality of care we provide, the milestones and projects I am about to share speak of the commitment and dedication of our colleagues.

Our recent Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® accreditation, for instance. During a rigorous, unannounced on-site review, a team of Joint Commission experts evaluated our performance in areas such as emergency management, environment of care, infection prevention and control, leadership, and medication management. Our hospital demonstrated continuous compliance with some of the highest industry standards, reflecting our determination to provide the Stafford Springs community and its surrounding towns the safest and most effective patient care available.

Additionally, the Johnson Memorial Cancer Center was recognized by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons with the 2015 Outstanding Achievement Award, for its high-quality, patient-centered care. Only 27 cancer centers throughout the United States received this distinction, positioning our center inside a very select group of elite cancer care providers.

Tapping on our recent affiliation with Trinity Health – New England, and combining our mutual strengths in delivering high-quality, low-cost and people-centered care to everyone in our community, we are also preparing for the opening of our first Johnson Memorial Hospital FastCare walk-in clinic. In partnership with Bellin Health, owner of the FastCare brand, and Big Y Supermarkets, the JMH FastCare site will be staffed by Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) who will be able to prescribe medications and to provide care for common, non-urgent illnesses and ailments.

Our hospital has also recently received a $12,000 donation from Big Y Supermarkets for the “Partners of Hope” initiative to benefit the Johnson Memorial Cancer Center. The money was raised last October through a month-long campaign to promote breast cancer screenings, education, and treatment. The funds will be used to directly support individualized patient services, giving us the opportunity to continue offering superior cancer care and treatment to the people of Northern Connecticut and Western Massachusetts.

These are just a few examples of the many accomplishments that, with the support of our Trinity Health – New England family and the generosity of local organizations such as Big Y Supermarkets, lay ahead of us. May we all work together to create new and better ways to improve the health of the communities we serve!

On behalf of Patrick Mahon, Chairman of the Board and myself, please receive our heartfelt gratitude for your commitment and permanent support.

Fantastic experience with the birth of our son. The staff was caring, informative, and my boy rarely left our side. Great job!! I highly recommend the birthing center.

The staff in the labor and delivery ward is absolutely phenomenal. One on one dedicated nurses, extremely professional, educational for first time parents, and so nice. People I would trust to take care of my child any day. The food is really good too!

Have to say that you hear people badmouth Johnson, but the last 2 times I've been to their emergency room I have been treated with respect and care. I also was in and out in less than an hour in both cases! Excellent emergency room!

Doctor Ciccarelli and the staff of JMH are wonderful. Dr Ciccarelli gave my husband hip surgery. There is no doubt in my mind,my husband will heal quickly.Everyone at JMH made us feel like family. All the way down to the young gentleman in the emergency room waiting room.He went out of his way to give my daughter and I h

This hospitals birthing center This hospitals birthing center is the best! I just gave birth to my third child here, first two were at different hospitals. And out of any hospital I have been to this one is definitely one of the best. I was treated with unbelievable amount of courtesy and respect and kindness

I would like to thank Lisa in ICU so much for taking such great care of my sick sister Sarah today (and me and Ken). From the second I walked in the door until I left I had 100% faith in your hospital and your staff! Every nurse I encountered was so kind and genuine. What a nice hospital! Others need to model after you

Excellent staff, refreshingly kind people, and short wait times. I cannot recommend it more wholeheartedly.

Dr. Morgan, his staff, and the staff in the ER are wonderful!!!!!

The best nurses, & great care. I especially loved the 3rd floor watchers Ellen & Helen :). Thank you to the staff in ICU too. JMH saved my life & I'm truly grateful! And wonderful aftercare also!

This hospital blows me away every time. I live closer to Hartford hospital but I'll take the drive to Stafford every time. They are polar opposites in service. Johnson has friendly helpful staff. I'm always in and out of the ER in about an hour and if it takes longer than that then it's not because I'm sitting around f
