Insight Therapy’s treatment philosophy is based on the cognitive-behavioral model of psychotherapy and our staff’s rich educational and experiential background gives our clients access to a variety of therapeutic styles including  family systems, reality therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and other research-based therapy.   We offer an alternative to 12-step programs and at the same time we are able to support clients who find the 12-steps useful.  We offer Screening and Individual Counseling for clients dealing with substance abuse and other life issues.  We also offer counseling for people dealing primarily with emotional issues and not necessarily with substance abuse.  This is designed for clients who find that their emotions interfere with the ability to make good decisions.

Insight Therapy’s philosophy encourages empowerment of the individual, which implies personal responsibility for one’s behavior.  Rational Recovery is the basis for the self-help support at Insight Therapy, but many of our clients also participate in 12-step meetings outside of our facility.
