Muir Wood Adolescent and Family Services is a northern California treatment center for teens with addiction, substance abuse, mental health and behavioral issues. The center offers two distinct treatment tracks: Residential Primary Care for boys 12–17 in the beautiful farmlands and rolling hills of Petaluma, CA, and Intensive Outpatient Counseling for boys and girls 12–19 in scenic nearby San Rafael, CA. Our gender-responsive boys residential program has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and our programs are led by renowned Bay Area clinicians and a talented and dedicated support staff. Our CARF-accredited residential adolescent program, located in Sonoma County, CA, is designed for boys, ages 12–17, struggling with drug or alcohol addiction or abuse, behavioral problems, and mental health issues.

With a nationally renowned clinical program headed by a team of highly credentialed professionals, comprehensive diagnostic testing, year-round academics, and outdoor adventure therapy, Muir Wood is considered to be the gold standard in teen addiction treatment by parents, therapists, physicians, and teen substance abuse experts alike.

Our Outpatient Program in San Rafael, CA, includes 12-week Day Treatment and 12-week Intensive Outpatient tracks for teen boys and girls struggling with substance abuse and behavioral or metal health issues.

Along with all other groups, activities and family therapy, clients receive at minimum one individual therapy session per week with a licensed therapist and one individual family therapy session per week with a licensed therapist. Clients submit to random drug screens at least once per week.
