“Janus gave me a new beginning”

For 40 years, Janus has been helping people find a path to recovery. We’ve helped thousands of people in their journey, and helped shape the lives of thousands of others whose lives are affected by the addiction of a friend or family member. We got them started, and we are waiting to help you.

Making the decision to enter treatment is a significant and often difficult step. But remember, we are here to support, guide and encourage you in getting started on your journey to wellness. Our admissions process is designed to be straightforward and supportive.

Janus is dedicated to providing caring, quality treatment at a reasonable cost. We understand that your decision to come to Janus is a financial investment, possibly one of most important investments of your life. Our Admissions Specialists will work with you to find a way to make it affordable.

Addiction is a painful, devastating and traumatizing experience for all involved. More often than not, the individual who abuses substances is self-medicating, and seeking relief from deep pain. Often times, this pain is related to traumatic events in one’s life, leading to a variety of symptoms and unsafe coping tools, including substance use. Janus of Santa Cruz believes that understanding the impact of trauma on individual’s lives is crucial in the proper treatment of substance use disorders. Trauma Informed Care is a core principle of Janus’ framework and foundation.

According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, a trauma informed approach is “A program, organization, or system that realizes the widespread impact of trauma and understands potential paths for healing; recognizes the signs and symptoms of trauma in staff, clients, and others involved with the system; and responds by fully integrating knowledge about trauma into policies, procedures, practices, and settings.” Janus participates in frequent training, consultation and evaluation to ensure that this trauma informed approach is practiced throughout all programs. Additionally, the Seeking Safety curriculum, an evidence based practice proven to treat substance use and trauma, is incorporated into all of our treatment programs.

On the 3rd Friday of every other month, Janus hosts breakfast, tours and stories by graduates. Learn more about Recovery. Learn more about Janus.

For four decades, Janus has provided compassionate and effective addiction treatment while guiding thousands of people toward wellness and recovery. We offer help, hope and results to individuals and families.
