Dr. AnneMarie Overholser was born and raised in Oregon. She went to college in Massachusetts and medical school in Ohio before coming back to Oregon to complete her formal medical training with the Providence family medicine residency program in Milwaukie, OR. During college and medical school she spent a couple of summers working with Virginia Garcia in the clinics and camp outreach programs. These experiences inspired her to pursue a career in primary care.

She is glad now to return home to work with this great group of people and serve this community.

She enjoys experiencing different parts of the world and getting to know people from different cultures. She spent time studying in Ecuador, Greece and Honduras. Just before coming to Virginia Garcia she was working with the Navajo tribe in New Mexico.

Her favorite parts of practicing medicine include learning what is important to her patients and using her medical knowledge to help them understand their health and achieve their goals. She also values being able to provide a safe and welcoming place for people to come for care, and to ease the way through the often difficult medical system.

Away from work, she enjoys being with family and friends and spending time outdoors.

She speaks English and español.

Es una bendición poder servir a la gente aquí y espero tener la oportunidad mejorar la salud de la comunidad.

Family Nurse Practitioner Bruce Eastman joined Virginia Garcia in December of 2014. His path to join Virginia Garcia includes working with the homeless at free community health clinics. The mission of VG to make health care available to those who need it most is consistent with Bruce’s personal values. His medical interest is to provide care across the age spectrum as a Family Practice Provider. His passion is to teach patients and families how to utilize medications and health planning during the visit. His free time is spent in the wilderness searching for the best fishing spots. He often travels throughout the Northwest pursuing trout, salmon and steelhead.

Although Bruce is not proficient in Spanish, he is able to complete the opening history and physical exam for most patients before needing an interpreter. Bruce also speaks Lakota Sioux language, but not fluently.

Dr. Tochi Okeke joined Virginia Garcia in November of 2014. Dr. Okeke received her initial dental training in her home country of Nigeria where she worked with a not-for-profit organization committed to the provision of basic health care to rural indigent populations.

She relocated to the United States with her family in 2005 and became a student yet again acquiring her MPH and DDS degrees. She has a passion for working with underserved populations. Her clinical interests include health education, patient advocacy and eliminating/reducing barriers to care.

“I am very excited at the opportunity to work at Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center. This is an organization that is committed to meeting a definite need and bridging the access to care gap. I am honored to be part of this great course”.
