The mission of the Avalon-Carver Community Center is to care for the physical, mental and spiritual needs of individuals and families in south central Los Angeles whose lives have been severely disrupted by the use of alcohol and other addictive substances.

Avalon-Carver Community Center is returning to it’s original purpose of providing a full array of services that will strengthen families, promote economic self -sufficiency and develop a strong sense of community.

STEM Program aims to positively impact the whole youth (body, mind, spirit) in an effort to shape a productive, conscientious and societal-contributing adult.

Program and/or Affiliation Message

We offer an after school tutoring program to the youth in the community in basic skills and subjects. Monday – Thursday, 2:30 P.M. – 5:00 P.M.

We offer additional youth/tutoring program in the Leimert Park Campus: Tom Bradley Elementary School Monday – Tuesday, 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Monday – Thursday, 2:30 P.M. – 4:30 P.M.

Avalon Carver nutrition services provide healthy meals that assist families by supporting the development of good health and practicing good nutrition.

We offer nonresidential alcohol and drug services including including crisis intervention, counseling, client referral services, CalWORKs and Drug Medi-cal to a variety of clients both walk-ins and Drug Court referred.
