Keeping our community safe and healthy through behavioral health, harm reduction, and housing.
? HHCLA embraces Western and Eastern philosophical strategies to engage, establish rapport, and support clients. Eliminating obstacles to accessing programing is a primary focus for HHCLA. All programing is based on the principals of Harm Reduction and creating a Trauma Informed Care environment, where clients are treated with respect, no judgment, and recognized as the primary leader in improving their quality of life.
? In the heart of Skid Row, we’ve created a safe and supportive space for people to access life-saving services. We meet the immediate needs of our most vulnerable population by providing access to sterile syringes, emergency medical and mental health care, and naloxone—a medication used to prevent opioid overdose. We also provide easily accessible detox and drug treatment services as well as basic resources like hot nutritious meals, clothing, personal hygiene items, pet supplies, and wellness services including acupuncture, gardening, and yoga.
Center for Harm Reduction
Our training and education program provides innovative health, behavioral health, and harm reduction training as well as technical assistance to community based service providers, community health clinics, and hospitals.
