Never underestimate the power of a woman’s love. Covenant House began over 40 years ago when six young runaways were given shelter from a snowstorm, in the lower east side of Manhattan. Today there are 21 Covenant House locations in the USA, Canada and Latin Americas. Together we serve more than 56,000 homeless young people each year.

We are proud to be the nation’s largest privately funded agency serving homeless, runaway and at-risk youth. Our doors are open 24 hours a day for youth in need.

For one special night, Broadway’s biggest stars came together for a musical evening of inspiration - truly an event like no other. With close to 1,000 attendees, Covenant House New York hosted A Night of Broadway Stars at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Our commitment to helping our youth does not end after they have left our programs.  One of the greatest challenges for our young people is finding safe, stable housing when they leave. In January 2014, Covenant House was awarded an annual contract from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide leasing assistance for 27 CHNY residents.
