Since 1957, Bridges' mental health and addiction recovery programs and services have helped adults, children and families move toward healing, recovery and renewal.

Bridges is unique in its ability to offer care and treatment for the whole family, children and adults, in the same location, which can make it easier to access services and afford better outcomes for all.

As the state-designated Local Mental Health Authority for Milford, Orange and West Haven, Bridges offers recovery-focused services to support individuals with severe and prolonged mental illness and addiction problems.

May 24, 2016 Milford, CT - Bridges' Behavioral Health Home program staff held a Wellness Fair at the agency on Wednesday, May 24 to promote it's Behavioral Health Home program and celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month. Nearly 70 clients and agency staff  took part in activities ranging from blood pressure screenings to Tai Chi and Yoga classes. St. Vincent's Hospital provide its'mobile mammography van for the day and over a dozen women recieved a mammogram, some for the very first time.

Milford, CT, April 20, 2016– Barbara DiMauro, President and CEO of BridgesA Community Support System, Inc. and Susan McGrath, Board Chair of the Young Parent Program of Milford (YPP), have announced that effective April 19, 2016, Bridges has assumed management and operations of the Young Parent Program. Milford, CT  Bridges A Community Support System, Inc. offers an internationally recognized training in mental health first aid—an 8-hour certification course to help people in the workplace, at school or in the community better understand mental illness and respond to psychiatric emergencies with the knowledge necessary to assist someone until professional help can be engaged. 

The next training session for Adult Mental Health First Aid takes place Friday, October 14, 2016, 8:30 - 5:00 p.m. at Parson's Government Complex, Milford, CT.  [ more ]
