Navajo Department of Health - Moving toward a healthy future for the Navajo Nation

Established in 1988, the Department of Behavioral Health Services provides comprehensive care for those Navajo individuals and families who are impacted by alcohol and substance abuse. From its 5 agency offices, the program provides prevention/education, treatment and aftercare services. Specific services include alcohol and substance abuse, violence/abuse prevention/education, residential, outpatient and dual diagnosis treatment, counseling, aftercare and referral services, social detoxification/protective custody, and halfway house, as well as transportation, food, and other support services.
