Representative Sean Patrick Maloney

September is #recoverymonth for people fighting addictions – and I believe we can successfully combat this epidemic by working together. Yesterday, I joined RECAP Catholic Charities of Orange and Sullivan, HONOR, and Cornerstone Family Healthcare to kickoff recovery month and discuss some of the work I’m doing in the Hudson Valley and in Washington to fight this disease.

Yesterday RECAP and community partners Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange & Sullivan, NY, Cornerstone Family Healthcare & HONORehg,Inc. hosted a Recovery Month Kick Off press conference. Speakers discussed the growing issue of mental and/or substance use disorders, the epidemic growth of addiction to heroin and prescription opioids, and the critical role that prevention, treatment, and support services play in an individual’s recovery and improved quality of life.
