The mission of the organization is to provide youth, family and substance abuse services, including treatment services to individuals with co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders in order to enhance the quality of life in our community.
Who We AreH.E.L.P. Services, Inc. (Healing, Empowerment, Learning, and Prevention Services Incorporated) is a New York State Licensed organization that provides a myriad of human services offered in both English and Spanish. The services are offered at our two Freeport, Long Island locations: 33 Guy Lombardo Avenue (Substance Use Treatment Program), and 46 Pine Street (Youth Programs).
Our growing list of services include effective: drug treatment counseling, drug prevention counseling, youth counseling, homework help/tutoring services, creative arts therapy, dance workshops, electronic music production workshops, video production workshops, various trips/activities and summer programming.
Recently the services have evolved to include the use of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) interventions in the substance abuse and youth counseling programs. EBP interventions have scientific research to support their effectiveness.
HistoryH.E.L.P. Services, Inc. was formerly named Freeport Pride, Inc. The organization has been providing substance use treatment and youth programs since 1970.

Services, Inc. has received support and funding from a variety of sources: the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services, the Nassau County Office of Youth Services, the Village of Freeport, Freeport Union Free School District, Amazon.com, the American Red Cross of Long Island, the United Way of Long Island, The Nassau County Bar Association – We Care, The Hagedorn Foundation, Newsday, and various other institutions/federal and local grants/corporate and private donations/client fees, and fundraising events.

H.E.L.P. Services, Inc. Substance Use Treatment Program provides adults and adolescents with individual/group short and long-term outpatient treatment to adult and adolescent substance users. The program also provides support for co-occurring disorders, psychotropic medication prescription administration/management, and Suboxone® prescriptions. The treatment program is structured and includes vocational services and educational groups that cover a myriad of topics: anger management, domestic violence, tobacco smoking cessation, HIV/AIDS, relapse prevention, gambling, and others. We encourage family member participation in the treatment process whenever possible. Our Treatment program is in walking distance from the Long Island Railroad Freeport Station; there is also ample street and lot parking in the area. The entrance to our treatment program offices is discreet—this allows for strict confidentiality as clients enter and exit the building.
H.E.L.P. Services, Inc. Youth Programs cover an array of individual/group/family counseling and youth development services. These services include youth counseling, drug and violence prevention counseling, academic services (homework help/tutoring), in-school mediation/conflict resolution, parent counseling, creative arts programming, internet counseling, yoga/holistic behavior modification methods, summer programming, and we also host various trips/activities throughout the calendar year.
