ï¿We are pleased to announce that Covenant has been awarded another 3-year accreditation from the Commission on the Accredition of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) as of May 2016!

On March 10, 2016 we were blessed to have students from Emory come to visit with our residents as part of their Homeless Immersion Experience. The students spent the week living as part of the homeless community, volunteering at shelters, living on little food, and sleeping under the stars. They came to Covenant toward the end of their journey, on the fifth day, to hear some of our resident's stories. One of the students took the time to write about the experience. We are honored to have been a part of their experience.

Today we honor our dear friend Juelz Mitchell (December 4, 1952 - December 23, 2014) on his 62nd birthday. Though we miss him greatly, he is still with us. A day does not go by at CCI without some of Juelz's words of wisdom. His dedication to giving hope to the hopeless, guidance to the lost, and love to the unloved is forever woven into Covenant's fabric.

In honor of Juelz's life and work, the Rev. Martha Sterne has compiled the many sayings and stories of our Alumni, the Men of Hope. In this short but powerful book, the wisdom about life and recovery shine through. Order your copy here.

Our thanks to all who donated their time, food, and finances to our 21st annual Thanksgiving dinner for the Homeless! We were blessed with over 80 volunteers and received food and financial donations from Ingles, Kroger, Publix, Rhodes Bakery, individuals, and many All Saints' parishioners. Over 600 meals were distributed, 350 to our guests and 250 as "to-go" for those who were unable to attend.

Our thanks to all who participated in the recent Golf Tournament! We successfully raised over $10,000! These funds will support our residents in as they continue striving for recovery. Our thanks to all the participants that made the fundraiser such a success! We would like to extend a special thanks to Lisa Mink, Andrea Hopkey, and their incredible team for their wonderful efforts!

In memory of our friend, Juelz Mitchell.

As part of our mission to ensure life stablization for the men of Covenant Community, we focus on how nutrition is essential in recovery. We will be participating in the SNAP-Ed Food Talk sessions to educate our guys on how to make better dietary decisions and how to choose and prepare nutritious, delicious, and budget-minded meals for our men and their families.

October 6, 2014: Covenant Community, Inc. (an accredited residential, life-stabilization program for homeless men recovering from substance abuse) has been awarded a TechGrant from TechFoundation, Inc., based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, which will greatly assist CCI's clients in their efforts to secure employment and achieve independent living. The grant funding will be utilized to fully convert the resident library to a technology hub and learning center, update staff operating systems, and transition to mandated electronic health records.  David Altshuler, Executive Director of TechFoundation, said 'TechFoundation is proud to help Covenant Community with technological upgrades that will enhance the lives of its residents and improve the efficiency and capacity of its staff.

As many of you know, United Way is a wonderful way to contribute to the charity of your choice through the workplace.  It often simplifies the process of giving with an automated payroll pledge.  Covenant Community received 93% of its United Way funding as a result of individuals designating our agency in their respective employer campaigns.  Please consider our organization in your United Way donor designated giving this year.  The code for CCI is 89459.  For additional information, contact Sarah Ford, Development Director at [email protected].  Thank you for your support!ï¿ï¿

Covenant Community, Inc. is a proud participant in the Marta Half Fare program in partnership with ACSS and the Georgia Law Center for the Homeless.
