Youth Outreach Services (YOS) is a comprehensive youth service agency serving at-risk to high-risk youth ages 12 to 21 years in Chicago’s west side and northwest communities as well as western suburbs. Since 1959, YOS has promoted the strengths and abilities of youth and families by providing community-based services that empower and enrich each to face life’s challenges with confidence, competence and dignity. We do this by offering over 20 different programs which serve over 4,000 youth per year.
  • YOS helps youth deal with life challenges through individual, group, family and crisis counseling services.
  • YOS offers community-based alternatives to incarceration that keep communities safe, while pointing youth toward success.
  • YOS promotes healthy life skills through community and in-school prevention curricula to help youth be proud of their choices.
  • YOS makes sure youth have safe, stable homes while preparing them for independence, through foster care, transitional living, and independent living programs.
