Since 1978, the Athens Area Commencement Center has tailored treatment to the individual. Specializing in Outpatient Alcohol and Opiate Detox in Athens, GA.

The Commencement Center in Athens, Georgia strives to be the outstanding Substance Abuse Disorder Treatment Program in North Georgia. Our treatment is based on the most current science and medical understanding of addiction as a disease affecting the addict, family and community.

Unlike many long-term residential treatment programs, the Commencement Center’s Detox and Outpatient Treatment Plans are covered by most insurance plans. Our goal is to help you clear pathways to treatment so that you may get started on the road to recovery immediately.

Today, in sobriety, I have found a new and wonderful existence. Though life isn’t perfect, it's better than I could have dreamed. I’m not afraid of living life, and I have not had to drink or use for four years now. I was astonished to find out how enjoyable life is with a clear mind and a recovery program that allows me to live with a sense of purpose, dignity and peace. My problems have literally disappeared, and not only has my marriage been restored, but it has greatly improved over what it was even in the early years before alcohol and drugs were a problem. With the Athens Area Commencement Center, I didn't need to hold onto the old excuses-- with their Outpatient Treatment programs I didn't have to leave my family or work behind to get sober; and with the Aftercare program, I didn't have to go it alone in sobriety once Treatment was completed. I am grateful for what the Commencement Center did for me. I know I couldn't have done it without their help, patience, and guidance.

Our CARF International Accreditation demonstrates commitment to continuous quality and 100% satisfaction, and our affiliation with The University of Georgia’s College of Pharmacy, School of Social Work, Medical College, and Nursing Programs keeps us up to date on the very latest in treatment and healthcare.
