Our Place is a non-profit organization, whose mission is to provide education, prevention, and intervention services for individuals of all ages, families, organizations, and communities who are presently or potentially impacted by alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs of abuse.

All services are provided without regard to race, age, color, religion, sex, disability, national origin, ancestry, or status as a verteran.

Our Place Drug and Alcohol Education Services, Inc. will be hosting the 3rd Annual Jamey Aebersold Spirit of the Red Ribbon Awards Dinner on Thursday, April 17, 2014. While we celebrate Red Ribbon Week in October each year, the Spirit of the Red Ribbon Awards will acknowledge those who have made a significant contribution towards the education, prevention, intervention and treatment of drug and alcohol abuse in our community year round.

Drug and alcohol abuse is something that touches us all either directly through our own experiences or those of a family member or friend, or indirectly by the toll it takes on children and families within our community. Substance abuse is the one common thread that runs through so many of the issues threatening the health, safety and livelihood of so many. The awards are given in honor of Jamey Aebersold, resident of New Albany and a world-renowned jazz musician. Jamey is a tireless community advocate and supporter of prevention efforts in Floyd County and surrounding areas.

Nominations in the categories of Education, Faith Based, Community, Industry/Business, Justice/Law Enforcement, Health Services and Social Services, and Youth are considered and if chosen for this award, recipients will be honored by their peers and friends at a dinner and ceremony at the Calumet Club beginning at 6:30PM in New Albany on April 17, 2014. Our Place serves over 5,000 youth, adults and family members each year with a variety of programs, but we need your help to make sure these valuable programs continue. We encourage you to consider being a part of such a wonderful event.
