Grand Rapids and Holland, Mich., August 25, 2016- The Boards of Directors of Arbor Circle and Pathways, MI announced today they have signed an agreement for Pathways to merge with and into Arbor Circle. The merger will complete a partnership between Arbor Circle and Pathways that started last year.

"Arbor Circle currently has an Affiliation Agreement with Pathways that permitted both organizations to maximize efficiencies by sharing services to deliver mental health and counseling services to 11 counties across West Michigan. This merger takes that partnership to the next level by combining our organizations and really recognizes the compatibility and strengths of both organizations. The Pathways’ team is a great group of people who are dedicated to the communities they serve and we look forward to them joining our team,” said Jack Greenfield, president and chief executive officer of Arbor Circle.

"We are delighted to be combining with the Arbor Circle team. Our partnership with Arbor Circle over the past year has permitted us to reach and impact the lives of more children, adults and families in West Michigan. We believe this merger with Arbor Circle will greatly benefit our clients, employees and the communities we serve. We expect the combined organization will permit us to expand the services we currently offer in keeping with our focus on helping our West Michigan communities thrive,” said Nancy Miller, board president of Pathways.

Arbor Circle offers more than 35 counseling, education and prevention programs; and is one of West Michigan’s most comprehensive providers of mental health counseling, substance use treatment and family development programs. Arbor Circle, a $13.1 million organization, serves more than 13,500 children, youth, adults and families each year. Arbor Circle has offices in Grand Rapids and Newaygo.

Pathways provides diverse programming including: child welfare, substance abuse and mental health counseling, all dedicated to enabling children, adults and families to achieve positive change in their lives and communities. Services are offered in: Allegan, Lake, Mason, Mecosta, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, Osceola and Ottawa counties. The $3.3 million organization annually serves more than 11,000 children, adults and families. Pathways has offices in Holland, Allegan and Muskegon.

Arbor Circle’s Board President Carl Siebers stated, “Operating as one organization will allow us to expand our reach across 11 counties in West Michigan serving nearly 25,000 children, youth, adults and families every year. We are excited for the journey ahead as we work to serve those most in need.”

Upon closing of the agreement, which is expected to be effective on October 1, 2016, Pathways will be consolidated into Arbor Circle. The combined organization will continue to offer services as Arbor Circle and Pathways, a program of Arbor Circle
