Big Sandy Health Care, Inc. and its clinics are a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n). For the past four decades, residents of southeastern Kentucky have had a variety of options when it comes to primary health, dental, behavioral and OB/GYN care. Since 1974, local, state and national leaders, including such well-known individuals as Edward M. Kennedy and the Reverend Jesse Jackson, have praised the compassionate providers and dedicated staff of BSHC for providing outstanding services. Thanks to Big Sandy Health Care (BSHC) and its clinics in Floyd, Magoffin, Martin, and Pike counties, residents can receive diagnosis, treatment and referral for any healthcare issue. In addition to physician-directed care, five of the BSHC clinics have on-site laboratory, and three have pharmacy, x-ray and dental services on-site.
