The Children’s Home has served Western North Carolina as a safe place for children and their families for more than a century. The Home has helped transform the lives of thousands of children over the years, refocusing its programming to adapt to the changing needs of children, families, and society.

The Children’s Home is an essential lifeline for all children and families who are in need of help.  Whether it is an emotional or behavioral disorder that needs professional response, a temporary disruption to a family’s ability to provide stability and proper supervision, or a home environment that is simply too dangerous for a child, The Children’s Home is committed to caring for any child and helping any family that comes to us. Your participation can change lives forever.  While it is true that many children come here from heartbreaking situations of abuse and neglect, there is no “typical” profile for the children we serve.  Yes, they share one thing in common – having complex needs that require assistance or therapies their families cannot provide – but these children come from a variety of backgrounds, oftentimes with parents who want to be helpful but simply lack the skills needed.   Donate online.
