TROSA is an innovative, multi-year residential program that enables substance abusers to be productive, recovering individuals by providing comprehensive treatment, work-based vocational training, education, and continuing care.

TROSA Moving performed 5,892 jobs last year, saving lives one move at a time.

Nine out of ten of our program graduates remain sober one year after completing treatment.

Last year we provided 184,691 days of service to our residents.

Since it was first announced in July 2015 that State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) planned to purchase the iconic Blue Cross and Blue Shield headquarters in Chapel Hill, there has been much talk about the landmark’s future. Holding steadfast to its original plans to convert the property into a state-of-the-art data center, the Credit Union is happy to report that renovations are already underway. While extensive work will be needed to remove asbestos and upfit the property for occupancy, SECU is preserving the well-known architectural structure and even finding a new home for the fixtures and equipment through a donation to the Durham non-profit, Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers (TROSA), Inc.

TROSA is taking its famous mega yard sale and moving it indoors! Vice President of Business Operations Michael Keene said, "After years of battling the weather, we decided to take advantage of our 115,000 square foot store and bring all of these bargains indoors. With the record temperatures, we thought August was a perfect time to move things indoors." In addition to the store's regular selection of clothing, furniture, electronics, and housewares, the yard sale will bring in mattresses and box springs, washers and dryers, refrigerators, stoves, a large quantity of high-end office furniture, and

TROSA's own Katt Ryce, a resident in our Staff-In-Training program, has spent several months learning about storytelling and radio production alongside Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University and North Carolina Public Radio - WUNC, culminating in an 8-minute story she produced about two TROSA staff members.
