Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities/IDD and developmental disabilities may need help to keep them living independently. Case Managers can help these adults and their involved family members develop a plan to meet their needs. The Case Manager can also link them to other services, assist them in getting services, and in arranging needed transportation. Case Managers assist adults who are being discharged from hospitals and residential facilities resume life in the community. Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities/IDD can find meaningful activities to gain independence at our day services program. They can also receive training, support and services to help them live better at home, at work and in the community. For more information please call 757-788-0100.

We provide a thorough assessment for each individual requesting services. This assessment will help us assist you in selecting the kind of services which can help you. We can also provide a comprehensive psychological evaluation where needed. These services are provided by our licensed psychologist and therapists. Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM with additional evening hours available. You may request an appointment for these services by calling our Main Number at 757-788-0300. Appointments for psychological or psychiatric evaluations directed by the court may also be scheduled through our Information and Referral Department.

Children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities/IDD and other disabilities may benefit from our after school recreation services. Children in the program usually receive school bus transportation to the program, are provided with a high quality personal care and are picked up by the parents in the early evening.

Services for the deaf, hard of hearing, deaf/blind, or late deafened and their families are provided for the region. For information about these services Call 757-788-0300 or use 711 for the Virginia Relay Service, or TTY at 757-245-3089.

The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board provides gender specific substance abuse treatment. Services are available through Hampton Roads Clinic, Partners in Recovery, Project LINK, Men’s Substance Abuse Case Management, and South-Eastern Family Project.
