  The Providence Center helps adults, adolescents and children affected by psychiatric illnesses, emotional problems and addictions by providing treatment and supportive services within a community setting. Since 1969, The Providence Center has made recovery possible for Rhode Islanders through over 40 programs and wraparound services that meet each individual’s unique needs for living healthy.

The Providence Center’s programs and services provide a full array of community-based care to help adults, children and families live happy, healthy lives.

Rhode Island’s first recovery high school for students recovering from substance use issues

Anchor Learning Academy offers a supportive learning environment where students can achieve academic success and acquire the skills that will carry them along on their recovery journeys. A combination of academic and clinical programming prepares students for the next steps in their education and lays the foundation for long-term recovery from addiction.

The Providence Center School offers a unique, supportive learning environment for children in grade Pre-K through 12 who have acute behavioral and emotional symptoms. The curriculum blends academic and clinical supports to help students transition back to their community schools.

The Providence Center’s residential substance use treatment programs help men and women build the foundation for long-term recovery.

Women’s Day Treatment empowers women in recovery to take control of their lives and make positive changes. The program addresses the unique needs of women in recovery, including family issues and mental health needs. A dedicated, compassionate staff guides women in developing the skills they need to live safe and healthy lives.

It’s time to quit and we can help! Quitting Time is an outpatient program for men and women who have made the choice to stop using alcohol and drugs. Treatment focuses on both the mental health and substance use needs of participants. Convenient day and evening options are available.

Tantrums? Bedtime hassles? Not following directions? The experts at the Early Childhood Institute help parents, families and child care providers understand children’s behaviors and provides therapeutic services to help children develop skills that will lead to success in daycare and kindergarten.

From depression to anxiety to stress, The Providence Center’s programs for teens aged 12-17 offer solutions for managing these feelings and other behavioral, social or emotional challenges. Our programs guide teens as they develop and strengthen coping skills.
