(Honesdale, August 23, 2016)… At some point, everyone experiences loss and grief. Coping with grief is a process. It can also be a challenge. This fall, Wayne Memorial’s Social Services Department and Chaplaincy program are offering a free workshop on the grieving process.

Honesdale, PA (August 22, 2016)—Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC), is pleased to announce that Emily Nebzydoski, MD, board-eligible pediatrician, has joined the staff of providers at the Highland Physicians Family Health Center, 1839 Fair Avenue in Honesdale. Dr. Nebzydoski treats children from newborn up to age 18. 

Winners of the Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers’ (WMCHC) Children’s Coloring Contest, Vanessa Hodges, 11, from Forest City and Brynn Mahon, 5, from Honesdale were each awarded a $50 gift certificate for their commendable artwork.

Honesdale, PA (August 9, 2016)—Daniel Harmuth, board-certified family nurse practitioner, brings a decade of healthcare experience and passion for his work to the Hamlin Family Health Center as the center’s second dedicated walk-in care provider. The Health Center, located at 543 Easton Turnpike, is open seven days a week treating patients for both routine primary and walk-in care such as colds, sprains and minor lacerations.

Bryant, currently the Chief Financial Officer of The Honesdale National Bank, officially became the 18th member of the board in June.

(Honesdale, July 6, 2016)… Mental/behavioral health, substance abuse, programs for grandparents raising grandchildren, tick-borne diseases and chronic disease specialists were among the significant health needs revealed by a comprehensive four-month study of Wayne and Pike Counties and the Carbondale Area in Lackawanna County.

(Honesdale, July 1, 2016 )…Wayne Memorial Hospital welcomed new leadership for its medical staff this month: Denise Viola, DO steps up to the presidency and James Arscott, DO, is now the vice president. The two physicians will serve as liaisons between the Wayne Memorial Hospital administration and a medical staff of more than 200 physicians and mid-level providers (nurse practitioners, nurse anesthetists, physician assistants). 

(Honesdale, June 14, 2016)…Honesdale’s Lady Hornets made sure one of their own would be remembered when they made a donation in Aril Bryant’s name to help others fight the disease that claimed her young life, breast cancer.

(Honesdale, May 23, 2016)… Close to 400 people showed up to help Wayne Memorial Hospital celebrate a potentially life-saving new service, a cardiac catheterization laboratory, on May 19th.

(Honesdale, April 21, 2016)… “This is evidence!” Wayne Memorial Hospital CEO David Hoff pointed to the whopping amount of $150,000 donated by the hospital’s Auxiliary to the hospital on April 15th.
