Tahoe Youth & Family Services

Dear community members, My family and I are overjoyed at the opportunity to serve you in this community, which is home to some of the most beautiful sites on earth. It was not easy for us to leave the Pacific Northwest, particularly Tacoma where I had the privilege of being part of an organization, The Rescue Mission, that is at the forefront of serving homeless women and families with children. To be a part of life transformation for thousands of people was truly one of the greatest experiences of my life. As we have been in the process of relocating, we truly believe that the community here is where we belong. We are eternally grateful for the warm welcome we have received from the communities throughout Carson Valley and around Lake Tahoe. My personal motto has been to help as many people as I possibly can. I believe that this organization gives me the best opportunity to do just that.

Amidst the incredible scenery there are members of our dear community that struggle with substance abuse and mental health issues. These issues are a concern for the future of our community as over 90% of the people seeking our services at TYFS are under the age of 25. This shows not only the vitality of our existence as an organization but the need for collaboration to ensure a healthy future for the area. While the task of solving these problems is difficult and at times overwhelming, I want to assure you that not only am I up to the challenge but I believe it is my personal mission to lead this organization as a key figure in transforming lives of our community members in need. We must gather to do whatever it takes to transform lives. It will take all of us to inspire change in the people that seek us out. I am looking forward to serving alongside you. We are going to do great things together. Sincerely, Christopher Croft

Our mission is to promote the healthy development of children, families and individuals through counseling, mentoring and support programs.

We offer services in the areas of mentoring, supportive services for high risk, runaway and homeless youth, substance abuse prevention and treatment and mental health counseling.
