United Community Services offers a wide range of behavioral health treatment services. We currently provide these services in three locations: Des Moines, Ankeny and Knoxville, Iowa. We also offer primary care services through our subsidiary, Franklin Family Practice, in our Des Moines office.
Our approach to treatment is individual and holistic. We believe that addiction, physical and mental health disorders affect many aspects of an individual's life as well as impacting society as a whole. We provide practical approaches to the development of personal empowerment and continuing recovery.
United Community Services (UCS) is organized as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Any donations made to UCS are tax deductible. We accept most medical insurance plans, private pay, Medicare and Medicaid. We also work with clients on a sliding scale fee system. If you need treatment, we will find a way to work with you regardless of your financial status.

We’ve completed our building renovation, added new counselors and medical professionals, and we have launched our new brand — UCS Healthcare. Now the primary health care services offered by Franklin Family Practice are integrated into the individualized addiction treatment approach of United Community Services under the name UCS Healthcare.
