The purpose of Alcona Citizens for Health, Inc., shall be to promote, develop and operate such facilities and programs as are necessary to provide quality health care to all residents of Alcona County and the surrounding areas, regardless of ability to pay.

Alcona Health Centers is a network of healthcare clinics serving northeastern and northwestern lower Michigan in Alcona, Alpena, Iosco, and Emmet counties.

The Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) is an approach to providing comprehensive primary care for children, youth and adults. The PCMH is a health care setting that facilitates partnerships between individual patients, and their personal physicians, and when appropriate, the patient’s family.

We participate in many dental plans, including Medicaid, Health Kids, MI Child and most other insurances. You may also qualify for our Sliding Fee Program, and payment plan options.

The Behavioral Health Services Department at Alcona Health Center welcomes all patients who have established with a Medical Primary Care Physician (PCP). The Behavioral Health Consultants (BHCs) are fully licensed Professional Counselors and/or Masters of Social Work in the State of Michigan, and at least one is available in all Alcona Health Center sites, including Alcona Elementary School, Alcona Middle/Senior High School and Lincoln Elementary School in Alpena. The BHCs are able to provide counseling and therapy to all ages, and also to individuals and families. The BHC works collaboratively with your PCP to provide you with seamless integrated treatment to work toward successful resolution of the issues you are facing, and to help you improve your quality of life. The BHCs will work with you to develop personal goals that you would like to see accomplished. These goals may be accomplished through any of the following, and maybe in combination of two or more: Individual Counseling, Group Counseling, Couples Counseling, or Family Counseling. We also have Psychiatric Services available on-site at our Lincoln clinic, or telepsychiatry available in several of our clinics, with the goal of having it available at all AHC clinics in the future.
